Plugin for OpenCart

The SmartMailer plugin sends contacts to the selected address book and counts orders from campaigns.

What the plugin does

  • Sends e-mail and name from enabled sources to the address book configured in the plugin.
  • The Send only contacts with consent option skips contacts without newsletter consent. It is enabled on a new installation.
  • Counts orders from campaigns. An order is attributed to the last campaign link clicked. The cookie lasts 365 days by default and can be adjusted; Only the first conversion deletes the cookie after an order.
  • Campaign order counts appear in the campaign statistics in SmartMailer. Revenue and a local monetary return report are not transferred.

Installation and connection

    Install and enable the plugin

    Download the package for OpenCart 3 or 4 to match the e-shop version. Install the extension in OpenCart administration and enable SmartMailer.

    Create an API token

    In SmartMailer, open Account settings > API tokens and create a token for the e-shop. The full token is shown only once.

    Enter the token and select an address book

    In the SmartMailer settings, enter the API token and address book UUID and enable the required contact sources.

    Configure conversions and consent

    Select the order statuses to count, the cookie lifetime and optionally Only the first conversion. The default statuses correspond to paid and completed orders. Also review Send only contacts with consent.

    Configure cron

    Add the exact cron URL with the token shown in the plugin settings to the hosting scheduler. Cron sends conversions; contacts are transferred as they are created.

What syncs

  • Contacts from enabled sources are transferred according to the settings.
  • Consent comes from the customer newsletter subscription in OpenCart. Guest orders without this consent are skipped as contacts when the option is enabled.
  • Cron sends unsent campaign orders in the selected statuses that changed within the last 30 days. Failed transfers are retried on the next run.

Review consent after updating

Updating preserves existing contact transfers: Send only contacts with consent remains disabled. Consider enabling it. Conversion settings are available from WordPress plugin 1.2.0 and Joomla and OpenCart plugins 1.1.0.
